Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer

Eclipse is the continued adventures of Bella, her cool-as-ice, vampire, boyfriend, Edward and her best friend, werewolf, Jacob! As I described Meyer's earlier books to friends, their eyes widened with disbelief at my enthusiasm for the werewolf/vampire/adventure/love story. It does sound implausible that I couldn't put this book down. I'll be the first to tell you that I am not "into" fantasy. This series could definitely change my genre tendencies!
Bella and Edward are back together after their adventures in Twilight and Full Moon and Bella is missing the friendship she shared with Jacob. There have been a series of brutal murders in Seattle and Edward's family is concerned that they may be vampire related. Despite Edward's concern for Bella's safety, he allows her to go visit Jacob, where she learns the history of the werewolves. Bella is struggling with her strong feelings for Jacob and Edward is pressuring her to get married. She's not thoroughly convinced that she wants to become a "bloodsucker" but knows that she can't live without Edward. She feels the clock ticking as she grows older and Edward enjoys eternal youth. The book concludes with this reader thirsty for the next installment.
